AUSTIN -- A man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after threatening another man with a knife.
Austin police arrested 48-year-old Peter Martin Flores at the Tiger Mart gas station on 6515 S IH -35 northbound service road.
Police said they responded to a disturbance call shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. After arriving at the gas station, police said Flores matched the suspect's description given by the caller.
Police found a knife with an orange handle and metallic blade approximately three to four inches long in the left back pocket of Flores' pants.
Police spoke with the victim of the attack who said Flores pulled a knife on him while he was pumping gas, and demanded money. The victim said he quickly walked away from Flores and into the gas station where he told store employees what happened.
Video surveillance from the gas station matched the statement given by the victim, police said.
Flores is being held on a $30,000 bond.
