We all grew up hearing the story of the "Wizard of Oz" and Dorothy's triumph over the Wicked Witch. But we never heard the Wicked Witch's side of the story, until the debut of the musical "Wicked."
It debuted in 2003 on Broadway and is based on a 1995 novel by Gregory Maquire.
It tells the story of Elphaba, the awkward girl with emerald green skin, and Galinda, the beautiful, ambitious blonde, and how the two started out as best friends.
The second national tour of "Wicked" is on stage in Austin starring Anne Brummel as Elphaba. She spoke to KVUE about the musical.
"Wicked" can be seen at Bass Concert Hall through Feb. 12. For tickets and show times, click here.
