Former Presidents Bush and Clinton are in Haiti this week, hoping to raise awareness about the need for relief.  Members of an Austin church are trying to do the same.

Austin’s Capital Christian Center has published images on its website from a recent mission to Haiti.  The photos show daily life amid the devastation.

They include children playing, women washing clothes and meal time.  Many of the images are in black and white.

"It seemed like just the whole group flocked to us and wanted to held and touched and loved on. and a lot of those kids have never been touched and you know, a simple hug," said Ben Stokes, Capital Christian Center.

The church volunteers visited Haiti last month to deliver medical supplies, and they included a photojournalist from Alabama.  Most of the time was spent at an orphanage near Port-au-Prince, where more than a hundred children were living.

"It just hit me -- what if those were my own kids? That's why we want to continue to work and get the ministries involved and to continue," Stokes said.

The volunteers say those children still need their help, and they are planning a second visit to Haiti next month.
