HUTTO, Texas -- Officials in Hutto are preparing for the new school year with an active shooter drill Friday morning.
Hutto law enforcement agencies began the drill at 8 a.m. at Veterans Hill Elementary. They want to be prepared for the worst - a gunman threatening the lives of students and teachers.
Organizations involved include the Hutto School District, Hutto police, Williamson County officials and the Temple College Police Department.
The Round Rock Police Department is providing training assistance.
Officials say it will be an all-day event.
