AUSTIN -- Local restaurant chain How Do You Roll is hoping to take a bite out of childhood hunger one stomach at a time.
During the week of Sept. 16-21, the sushi restaurant is asking for customer donations as part of a nationwide campaign called No Kid Hungry. The campaign has a fundraising goal of $10 million from more than 9,000 participating restaurants.
In Austin, How Do You Roll will match contributions up to $5,000.
"We're hoping the community will come out so we can get to $5,000 plus the $5,000 match to hit $10,000 quickly," said How Do You Roll CEO Yuen Young.
More than 16 million kids in America live in households that struggle to put food on the table.
