AUSTIN -- State lawmakers are trying to find new ways to lure people away from Interstate 35 and onto State Highway 130.
A new House Bill may have the answer -- make it free.
According to our partners at the Austin-American Statesman the bill would cost the state $3 billion. Part of that would go toward buying back part of the road from the private investors. The rest of the money would go to TxDOT.
The bill is definitely a long shot, especially since it proposes tapping into the Rainy Day Fund.
