SOUTH AUSTIN -- Austin firefighters are working to find out exactly what caused a house fire in South Austin.
It started around 4:40 Saturday morning on Arapahoe Trail near Highway 290. Investigators say the fire started on the back porch and spread to the kitchen and bedroom.
The homeowner, who was the only person inside at the time, made it out. AFD officials say she was not injured, and will be staying with friends.
The fire left extensive flame and smoke damage to the home, including $100,000 in structure damage and $25,000 in damage to contents in the home.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
