AUSTIN -- A homeless woman faces felony charges for slapping a 10-year-old in the face.
Esperanza Sanchez, 50, is charged with injury to a child, a third-degree felony.
According to an arrest affidavit, back on February 21, a witness saw Sanchez slap the boy as he played on a scooter outside Cristo Rey Catholic Church in East Austin.
The witness followed Sanchez until police arrived and the boy also picked Sanchez out of a photo line-up.
Responding officers reported a strong odor of alcohol on Sanchez's breath.
Sanchez is not yet in custody.
