WIMBERLEY, Texas -- The Hays County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at a Wimberley home which forced the nearby high school to go under lock down for a short amount of time.
The sheriff's office says deputies were called to the 300 block of Rader Ranch Road around noon Friday.
They say a 40-year-old male was shot in the abdomen and was taken to an Austin hospital. As of 4:45 p.m. he was in surgery. His status is unknown.
Just before 4 p.m. Friday, deputies took a 19-year-old male suspect into custody after a brief standoff.
Wimberley High School is no longer under lock down. School is not in session, but a basketball game was going on in the school's gym at the time. Officials say all children and staff members are safe.
