ELROY, Texas -- If you want to experience Formula 1 up close and personal, your best view will likely to be at the grandstand.

It's almost as if you're a part of the race. There is a view of each car gearing up and two big screen monitors documenting every turn -- all of it in close-up seats for the moment your heart skips a beat as the cars fly by.

It's the glorified grandstand for Formula 1, complete with upper and lower levels that total to 8,000 seats and a velocity lounge as high-end as it sounds.

"I think this room embodies a lot of the things we do on site," Circuit of the Americas Charmian Bobby Epstein said.

Two concession stands and a center bar highlight the room, but the true centerpiece is up above. Above the doors is a one-of-a-kind piece created solely for Circuit of the Americas and entitled "Velocity." Velocity is the largest acrylic-on-acrylic painting in the United States. It is 120 feet long.

"I jokingly told Bobby the night in Dallas, the night that he saw it, 'Do you know how badly this could have gone?'" artist Chris Martin said.

Martin, a Dallas-based artist, had only six weeks to envision and create the larger-than-life piece, meaning there was no room for error or starting over.

From the art to the stands, Epstein said every detail was given thorough thought to providing the perfect track and atmosphere to complement it.

Not only does the grandstand come with an incredilbe view, you can also document it. There is WiFi access on all levels.
