The superintendent of Georgetown Independent School District, Doctor Abbe Boring, resigned unexpectedly Monday night.
A mid-year review was on the school board meeting schedule, but there was no indication she would quit.
Boring gave no reason for resigning three years before the end of her contract. She'll leave July 15th and will be paid one year's salary, $206,000.
The district says starting immediately, day-to-day operations will be handled by two assistant superintendents and the chief financial officer.
