SOUTH AUSTIN -- Republican candidates for Texas attorney general are ramping up their campaigns with less than one month until the March 4th primary.

All three candidates spoke Sunday in Austin about their vision for the future.

Rep. Dan Branch, Railroad Commissioner Barry Smitherman and Sen. Ken Paxton all said their goal if elected is to protect state's rights.

Saturday U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced a new ruling that gives equal rights to same-sex couples in all 50 states.
