AUSTIN --- A special group of Austin students have a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in on one of the most prestigious stages in the world.

The Fulmore Middle School Girl’s Choir has been invited to perform at New  York’s Carnegie Hall in January. The young women were overheard singing in Dallas last  year and were invited to perform at Carnegie.

The only problem is the girls have to raise a total of $45,000 by Dec. 14 to be able to go.

“It's like a dream come true. The world's most famous stage and you're asked to bring a choir. I'm speechless,” said Yvette Carroll, the Fulmore Middle School Choir Director.

The Fulmore Choir has spent the last month working tirelessly on fundraisers such as dances. They even worked concessions at the Formula 1 track in Elroy last weekend.

As of Thursday they had only raised $29,000. Anyone wishing to help out can go to their website.
