The 19th Annual FronteraFest is underway in Austin with a multitude of performances that you won't see at traditional theaters. The festival features so-called fringe theater.

During this month-long theater festival, both newcomers and more established performers bring their acts to the stage, be it music, dance, theater and more.

Recent Los Angeles transplant Christy McBrayer is returning to FronteraFest with her semi-autobiographical, one-woman play "Southern Fired Chickie." She spoke to KVUE about the play and the festival.

McBrayer will perform two more shows at the Salvage Vangaard Theater Wednesday and Saturday.

FronteraFest runs through Saturday, Feb. 18. For a complete list of events, click here.
