AUSTIN -- A former University of Texas regent has pledged to give $25 million to the university for a new business school.
According to our partners with the Austin American-Statesman, former UT System regent Robert B. Rowling is giving the money to the school. Graduate programs with McCombs School of Business will be held in the new Robert B. Rowling Hall.
The building will be on the northeast corner of Guadalupe Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
The university has been trying to raise $58.3 million in donations to underwrite the new building.
“Bob Rowling already has served his alma mater at the highest levels of volunteer leadership, and with this gift, he and Terry enter the pantheon of the university’s most historically significant supporters,” UT President Bill Powers said Thursday.
Rowling resigned in 2009.
