AUSTIN -- A fire at a high-rise building at 421 West Third Street has been ruled an accident, officials say.

The Austin Fire Department said the fire started in La Condesa restaurant's kitchen around 2:20 p.m. Saturday and was venting out three stories above from the roof of the parking garage.

Officials say the fire caused $50,000 worth of damage to the structure and $25,000 to the contents of the buidling.

Due to the business being connected to a high-rise and visible flames, AFD upgraded the fire from a one-alarm fire to a three-alarm fire and sent more than 100 firefighters.

Officials had the fire under control by 2:35 p.m.
