Fayette Co. traffic stops leads to 28 pounds of marijuana

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas -- A traffic stop in Fayette County lead to a sizable pot bust on Monday.

According to the sheriff's department, deputy Randy Thumann pulled over a pickup truck on I-10 for a traffic violation.

His drug dog smelled marijuana in the bed of the truck and led the deputy to 28 pounds stashed in the spare tire.

The driver, a 46-year-old woman from Rio Grande City, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession.
