BUDA, Texas – A service will be held Friday evening at the Sunrise Community Church in south Austin for Trisha Marie Foulkrod, a 58-year old woman that was killed Monday on FM 1626.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a dump truck driver lost control and hit her and her grandson head on.
A Veteran heading to a Veteran’s Day Parade stopped to try to dig Foulkrod and her grandson out of their car, which was buried in sand from the dump truck. The grandson was saved, but it was too late for Foulkrod.
“Loving, giving and understanding,” is how Jim Foulkrod described his wife to KVUE Thursday. The couple met 29 years ago and was married for 24 years.
“Things are not making much sense and I don't know why. You know, God is good, God is great. I don't agree with His plan. He's wiser than I am,” said Foulkrod.
Trisha Marie Foulkrod was a mother of four and a grandmother who helped her husband at his drywall business in Buda. She was also very active in her the lives of her grandchildren, as well as her church.
“I'm going to take those 29 years that we had and be grateful for them instead of focusing on what I'm not getting to have. If I have no more, I had more than most so that's a blessing,” her husband said.
A DPS spokesperson told KVUE Thursday that the crash is still under investigation.
