Thursday was a very special day for 27 children in Travis County.
They crowded into the Gardner Betts Juvenile Detention Center to officially join their forever families.
It was all part of Travis County Adoption Day.
The courtroom was a bit less formal than usual-- there was lots of laughter and tears as parents like celebrated the day.
"I've had TJ since he was 2-months-old. He's now 2-years-old and we're getting to keep him along with his older brother," said Loretta King, mom.
King says she grew up an only child but once her 26-year-old daughter moved out of the house, she wanted to help other children.
There are 400 children in foster care right now in Travis County.
