SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) -- A 70-year-old former movie theater in Central Texas is getting a new look and name.
The building on the south side of the San Marcos courthouse square will reopen March 9 as the Texas Music Theater.
The Austin American-Statesman reported Monday that the $2.3 million venue will feature a state-of-the-art concert hall and club.
Co-owner Allen Shy says Texas musician Cory Morrow will be featured on opening night at the complex, which can hold about 1,000 patrons.
The structure, built in 1941 as the Plaza Theater, will host the Lone Star Music Awards on March 27.
