A man who escaped from Travis County sheriff's deputies is back in custody.
Officers found Todd Zurovetz about 8:30 Wednesday morning at the Whataburger near Manchaca and Ben White.
The sheriff's office says the 22-year-old was being arrested for outstanding warrrants when he escaped around 2 a.m. near Barton Creek Mall. They say Zurovetz slipped his cuffs from his back to his front and tried to kick out a patrol car window. When deputies stopped to get him under control, he ran off.
Zurovetz was wanted for burglary of a vehicle and has a criminal history.
An additional escape charge will be added, due to the fact that an officer suffered a back injury while trying to re-capture him.
