This week we head to a popular theater with a failing score. The Alamo Draft House at 1120 South Lamar failed it's Travis County health inspection with a score of 61. Among the problems cited by the health inspector, fruit flies in the food prep area. Accumulation of dirt and filth under the finger nails of a burger cook. Also cross contamination of flour with an unknown substances, a red liquid. There was also an accumulation of food particles on cutting boards, tea urn spouts and the ice machine.
On the required follow up inspection the Alamo Draft House on South Lamar passed with a score of 96.
Next stop The Shack Corner Store at 1167 Webberville Road failed it's inspection with a score of 67. Among the problems, steak, chicken and beef cooked more then 24 hours ago without a discard date. An employee with gloves wiped down the counter, and then handled tortilla and cheese without changing gloves. There was no soap in the bathroom and an accumulation of mold and mildew on the soda fountain spigots.
On the required follow up inspection The Shack Corner Store on Webberville Road scored a 86.
Finally we head to Sazon at 1816 South Lamar. It failed with a 66. Among the violations here dented cans stored with ready to use cans. The chefs thermometer was improperly calibrated. There were also some plumbing problems. The mop sink was leaking on the floor and a urinal was out of order.
On the required follow-up inspection Sazon passed with a 73.
