AUSTIN -- If you ever wanted to take a time machine and meet the dinosaurs, you now have the chance, in a way.
Erth: Dinosaur Petting Zoo, a traveling exhibit, is performing at the Long Center in downtown Austin. The dinosaurs may look real, but they're actually people-powered puppets.
It's a unique way to teach kids about dinosaurs and other creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago. For the kids, there's an extra benefit -- it's a fully interactive, hands-on experience.
"It's an opportunity for kids of all ages to feed and pet and care for these animals. They get to interact directly with the dinosaurs. There's T-Rex and all of his cousins. So it's just a really neat, very, very interactive, very educational experience for kids of all ages," said the Long Center’s Heath Riddles.
Erth: Dinosaur Petting Zoo has a couple of set shows and runs through Sunday March 3.
