AUSTIN -- Texas law enforcement officials are offering a $5,000 reward in connection with finding a convicted sex offender.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says Santos Francisco Sanchez, 45, is on the list of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders.

DPS says he is a Texas Syndicate gang member with a violent past. He is wanted for violating his parole and failing to register as a sex offender.

Sanchez was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Fort Worth in 1996. When he was released from prison in 2003, he did not register as a sex offender with the La Villa Police Department in Hidalgo County. He did not live in a halfway house either, which violates his parole.

DPS says Sanchez is from Brown County, but has been living in the Tarrant County area. He has been known to work carpenter jobs.

Sanchez is 5'10" and weighs around 205 pounds. He has dragon, skulls and devils tattooed on his left forearm. He has a heart tattoo on his upper left arm and a peacock on his upper right arm. He has a heart and rose tattooed on his right forearm.

If you have information leading to his arrest, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS. You can also submit a tip here or text your tip with the letters DPS to 274637 (CRIMES).

All tips will remain anonymous.
