AUSTIN --- While some Austin cyclists continue mourning the loss of one of their own in a tragic accident, at least one other rider told KVUE he saw something like this coming.

On Tuesday 28-year old Morgan Marold was killed when she fell off of her bicycle into traffic after having a flat tire on Bee Cave Road near Barton Creek.

“Over a year ago I began writing TxDOT about this section of road. They admitted it was a problem area and said that they would go out and re-stripe that section of road. They moved the line a little bit, [but] it's not enough,” said Kevin Brodwick, a cyclist who rides Bee Cave Road at least twice a week.

A TxDOT spokesperson told KVUE there were some changes to some of the shoulders on Bee Cave, but they didn't affect the spot where Marold fell.

“We all pretty much hold our breath through that section of road," added Brodwick.

TxDOT says there are no immediate plans to make changes to that portion of the road.
