AUSTIN -- Crews are working to clean up 100,000 gallons of wastewater that spilled into a tributary of Williamson Creek.

It happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday along Wagon Bend Road near Stassney and I-35 in Southeast Austin.

According to the Austin Water Utility, the spill killed about 100 small fish but will not have any effect on drinking water.

People and pets should stay away from the creek while the cleanup continues.
