AUSTIN -- The gates opened Friday morning on an Austin tradition at Auditorium Shores.
The Cowboy Breakfast is the official kickoff to the two-week long Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo.
This is the first big event in what's going to be a big month in Austin.
Thousands were at Auditorium Shores Friday. The breakfast runs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and the event is free to the public.
The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
