ELROY, Texas - Drivers in the GRAND- Am series raced for 2 hours and 45 minutes Saturday around the Circuit of the America's track.

The sports car race series features a variety of race cars including Corvettes, Audis, Ferraris and Porsches. The first major event at the COTA track was Formula One last fall.

"Traffic is pretty quick," explains Ramon Cazares who lives nearby. "Not like last time it was pretty bad, we had to go all the way around."

Fans inside Circuit of the Americas say this race is also more accessible than Formula One, giving them the chance to interact with the cars and the drivers.

The Travis County Fire Rescue helped control the traffic this weekend, they tell us it hasn't been as busy as F1. 26,648 people came out this weekend compared to 265,000 at F1.
