AUSTIN -- Police and emergency crews are investigating an incident which left a child burned at a local school.
Police say a 12-year-old girl suffered second degree burns to 20 percent of her body at Waldorf School in Oak Hill. Those burns are on her arms, legs and face.
The child was taken to Dell Children's Hospital in serious condition.
The Oak Hill Fire Department tells KVUE it is on scene for a "medical burn patient." Crews are working to remove smoke from the building. They say the incident doesn't seem to involve the structure of the school.
The cause of the student's burns is under investigation.
