ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Thousands of toys are on the way to Fort Hood to be delivered to military families.

The 7th annual Celebration of Love/Soldiers of America toy drive is bringing the holiday spirit to military families on post, but this year organizers say donations are running low.

Tom Ramsey, founder of Celebration of Love, says they are still in need of approximately 4,500 toys to make sure every child gets a gift this holiday.

“I’m looking for a miracle,” said Ramsey.

On Saturday volunteers with Celebration of Love will distribute toy bags to Fort Hood families in need. Crews loaded three totes packed with donations. In 2011 they loaded 22 totes.

“It has been a really rough year, really rough year. We started very early, this is the first time that we’ve ever faced this difficulty,” said Ramsey. “I know we’re going to pull through it because the community just loves our soldiers.”

On Tuesday morning Ramsey helped load two 18-wheelers with what donations were available. He’s hopeful donations will continue to arrive up to distribution day on the post.

There are still five days left to collect donations. Volunteers are waiting on standby ready to fill more bags for a few more military families.
