AUSTIN -- The Circuit of the Americas track is a contender to host another marquis sporting event. In November COTA hosted the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix race.
Now it's one of 13 venues ESPN is considering for its summer X Games, and it would host that event for three years.
The Houston Sports Authority in Harris County and Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth are also in the running.
