BURNET, Texas -- The Burnet County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate who hanged himself from a shower head with a bedsheet.

Jail personnel found the body just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. KVUE News spoke to a family in Georgia, who says the man that died is their son, 30-year-old Gregory Currie.

Jailers tried unsuccessfully to revive him. According to the sheriff's department, they were checking his cell every 30 to 40 minutes.

Currie was facing capital murder charges for the deaths of Dorrina Reese, 42, and Thomas Wells, 30. Deputies found their bodies on Wednesday at their home in Spicewood. Investigators say their home had also been set on fire.

Currie was just one of three people facing charges in connection with the crime. Justin Curbow, 34, of Marble Falls who uses the alias "Juston," is now charged with capital murder. Melissa Frink, 33, of Brownwood, Texas is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Investigators say all three suspects knew the victims.
