WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas -- A burn ban has been put in place for Williamson County.
The ban will last 30 days unless conditions improve. It was approved by the Williamson County Commissioner's Court and announced on Tuesday.
Residents in Williamson County must not burn combustible material outside of an enclosure, burn household yard waste like grass or brush, or burn to clear land of trees or other shrubbery.
Those who violate the burn ban face a class c misdemeanor and $500 fine.
