AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- A coroner has identified a body pulled from a rain-swollen Central Texas creek as a 50-year-old homeless man.
Investigators in Austin are trying to determine a cause of death for Jeffrey Allen Thacker, whose body was located Oct. 15 by someone passing by.
The Austin American-Statesman reports the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office on Tuesday said it's unclear how Thacker ended up in Williamson Creek. Experts used fingerprints to ID the body, which was found as floodwaters receded.
The Austin area had flash flooding following several days of storms.
