BASTROP, Texas -- The chief of police for the Bastrop Police Department is retiring.
According to The Bastrop Advertiser, Chief Michael Blake announced that he will be retiring on March 31 due to "unforeseen personal circumstances."
Chief Blake has 40 years of law enforcement experience. He joined BPD in March 2011.
The Advertiser reports that Assistant Chief Matt Wagner will serve as interim chief until the position is filled.
