BASTROP, Texas -- Things are expected to heat up at a Bastrop School District board meeting Tuesday night. Citizens say they will gather to protest the cancellation of a Bastrop ISD diversity plan. They say the plan would make the school district's hiring process more fair.

Back in February, controversy erupted over a Bastrop principal's decision to call eighth grade African American students to the school library. The principal wanted to discuss their lack of success on the TAKS test. Bastrop ISD issued an apology after the incident.

Tuesday's meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
