Bank robbed in Central Austin

Austin police detectives released surveillance photos from the bank.

Austin police were looking for a bank robber Wednesday.

Officers say the robber showed a small, black semi-automatic gun at the Wells Fargo on West 35th Street near Kerbey Lane around 10:30 a.m.

They say he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say he's been nicknamed with "Reckless Robber" and is connected to several bank robberies in Houston.

He's described as white, around 30 years old, 6’0” with a medium to heavy build.  He was wearing dark pants, a light polo and sunglasses.

He has short dark hair and is clean shaven.

Wow, nice clear photos. You can even see the gun, which I've never seen in these types of pictures. It's crazy, robbing a bank. I've heard that the average take is really small, like 5,000 bucks. Hardly worth going to jail for forty years.
