AUSTIN - A celebration of pride make its way through the streets of downtown Austin Saturday night.
The Pride Parade started along Congress Avenue and continued to Fourth Street.
The theme of the parade was "Love Unites."
"I think it's important for people to see gay people in their everyday lives and recognize they are just like everyboyd else," said parade attendee Lucy Fraiser. "We deserve rights just like everyone else, including the right to be married."
More than 70,000 spectators were expected to line the streets.
Before the parade started, organizers held a symbolic group wedding.
Pride Week activities began on Sunday and included a Rainbow Run 5K Saturday morning.
