AUSTIN -- Austin's school board postponed a vote Monday that could have put ads on the district's buses.
Board members were scheduled to decide on a contract with Steep Creek Media. That would have put banners on 10 percent of the district's fleet during the first year. By the fifth year, the program would include about 400 buses -- 80 percent of the fleet.
Administrators say that would bring in nearly $400,000 per year.
However, some of the newer board members say they didn't know enough about the plan to vote Monday night.
