Austin police officer suspended for misfiring gun

AUSTIN -- An Austin police officer is temporarily suspended one day after misfiring his shotgun last November.

Officer Benjamin Rohe responded to a burglary alarm at a Walgreens store at Parmer Lane in Northwest Austin

While he was clearing his gun, he accidentally fired one round into the pavement. No injuries were reported.

Officer Rohe's suspension will go into effect Friday.
