Austin has been named one of the healthiest cities in the U.S. by a major health magazine.
A list of the healthiest - and unhealthiest - cities in America has been compiled by Women's Health Magazine. Austin ranked number eight on the list out of 100 cities.
The magazine looks at access to medical care, obesity rates, cancer rates and other lifestyle factors like happiness and unemployment.
The healthiest cities are:

- San Jose, California
- Boise City, Idaho
- Burlington, Vermont
- Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Seattle, Washington
- Austin, Texas
- St. Paul, Minnesota
- Portland, Maine
The unhealthiest cities are:
- Detroit, Michigan
- St. Louis, Missouri
- Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Jackson, Mississippi
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Cleveland, Ohio
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Toledo, Ohio
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
