Police have charged an Austin couple with endangering a child after their 3-month-old child tested positive for cocaine.

Police say the baby was with Amado Ravelos, 26, and Patricia Ravelos, 26, as the couple was smoking crack cocaine in the room of an Econo Lodge.

The infant's hair tested positive for the drug.

The couple admitted to smoking about $5,000 worth of crack a week during the last couple of months.

A police affidavit reveals the couple had recently received a $175,000 settlement from an auto/pedestrian accident.

The baby is now in the care of a grandparent.

Bond was set at $20,000 for each.
