AUSTIN -- The 2012 Austin Danskin Series Triathlon was held Sunday at Lake Walter E. Long Park in Austin.
More than 800 women took part in the multi-sport event. It consisted of a 1/2-mile swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 5K run.
The even has been taking place for more than 20 years. It gives the opportunity for women to "TRI." More than 375,000 women have competed in more than 150 races since 1990.
The event is the largest and longest running multi-sport series in the United States.
