AUSTIN -- After heated debate, changes to Auditorium Shores will come up for a vote on Tuesday.
Austin's Parks and Recreation Board is scheduled to vote on the design for an off-leash area for pets at Auditorium Shores. The plan would move the water access for pets and their owners further west to a newly constructed 3.2-acre leash-free zone.
But many argue that the zone is too small for Austin's growing population.
The City Council is set to consider the measure on Thursday. If approved, Parks and Rec say they expect construction to begin in January and be finished by spring 2015.
