AUSTIN -- Austin police arrested four people in connection with the beating death of a 16-year-old Austin boy.

Christina Reynero, 35, her son Juan Jose Reynero, 17, and Arthur Estrada III, 18, are all charged with murder in the death of Jorge Louis Medina, Jr. Police also arrested a juvenile who they are not identifying.
According to the arrest warrant affidavits released Tuesday, the three were part of an attack last Thursday that included sticks, boards and a pole used against Medina.
Tuesday wearing blue T-shirts with their son's picture and carrying flowers, family members mourned the loss of Medina.

"We may not bring him back. He'll always live in our hearts. He may be gone, but he'll always be in our hearts," a family member said.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Uphill Lane just after 6 p.m. Thursday Nov. 8 when neighbors reported that several people were beating the boy in the streets.

Police say a mother, her two sons and a known gang member began attacking Medina in the street with sticks, poles and pieces of wood.

According to an arrest affidavit the fight started because of a "beef they had with him from the past."

Police say the mom, 35-year-old Christina Reynero picked up a 2x4 and hit the 16-year-old in the head. Then Arthur Estrada, a member of the Dove Springs Posse 44 gang began stomping on Medina's face. The mother's two teenage sons joined the fight. They hit Medina so hard, he died. All four are charged with murder.

Medina's mother wants to remember her son as a "good kid."

"He was a good kid. He had lots of friends. He was very respectful," Maria Rivas Medina said.

Austin police have ruled Medina's death a homicide.
