Austin police are looking for a runaway driver who hit a woman and two cars.
Just before 1 a.m. Friday, police spotted a driver going the wrong way in the 400 block of Colorado. He then hit a parked car.
Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver didn't stop. The pursuit zig-zagged through downtown. When the driver got to 6th and Congress, officers say he hit an occupied car. He then went onto the sidewalk and struck a woman.
"When struck, she was thrown into the air. She sustained some serious injuries, but non life threatening injuries," said Lieutenant David Ortiz, of the Austin Police Department.
Police describe the runaway vehicle as a white Chevy Avalanche. It will have heavy front end damage. The driver is a Hispanic male in his 20's.
If you saw the accident, call Crime Stoppers at 472-TIPS.
