APD operation cracks down on drugs

AUSTIN -- A police operation focused on getting drugs off the streets downtown has led to dozens of felony charges.

From July 11 to Sept. 5, APD's 'Operation Safe Assistance Two' netted more than 24 arrests. Those have led to 40 felony drug charges.

The focus of the program was to crack down on drug dealers and buyers in the downtown Austin area.
