AUSTIN -- Austin Police are investigating two different violent attacks that happened in two days. The latest incident occurred around 8 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Colorado.

According to investigators, a man was standing on the sidewalk when another man confronted him with a knife. The thief got away with some of the victim's personal belongings.

"The victim was not injured but we have not made an arrest at this time," said Veneza Bremner with the Austin Police Department.

Police are looking for a thin, white man, in his mid 30's. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, a white v-neck tee-shirt and khaki shorts. Anyone with information is asked to call APD.

Police are also investigating another attack from the day before. A woman was attacked while jogging near Festival Beach. Police arrested Bobby Loftin. They say he was hiding in a bush with a weapon when he grabbed the woman. She was able to get away. He is in custody in Travis County.

Bremner says the cases are unrelated but a good reminder to be aware of your surroundings.
