AUSTIN -- Homicide detectives have identified the woman found dead at a Southwest Austin apartment complex Sunday as 26-year-old Cassandra Elizabeth Clark.
Police have charged 27-year-old Ryan Kyle Clarke in connection with Clark's death.
According to the arrest affidavit, Clarke was arrested and charged with murder after being taken to a hospital for injuring himself. There he admitted to a social worker, "I hurt someone." He also provided the name of the apartment complex, the Lantana Ridge Apartments, and a unit number.
Those apartments, located off William Cannon Drive between Southwest Parkway and Highway 71, are where police found Cassandra Clark dead.
Police said the two were dating and Clarke occasionally stayed at the apartment with Cassandra and a roommate.
Clarke is being held in the Travis County Jail on $100,000 bond.
This is the 37th homicide in Austin this year.
