In Cedar Park, funeral services were held Sunday morning for 9-year-old Madeleine Frady.
Frady passed away last Tuesday after fighting brain cancer.
Frady's mother is a Travis County deputy, and last summer the sheriff's department made Frady an honorary deputy. Her stepfather, Joe Stan, said that kind of support made a big difference.
"She fought a hard and courageous battle with glioblastoma brain tumors, where she was only supposed to be alive for six months, and she made it 14," said Stan. "That was just due to all the positive friends, family and people around us giving her hope and giving her something to fight for."
KVUE first introduced you to Frady back in April, when dozens of volunteers helped set up a giant food fight for her in Zilker Park.
They battle with spaghetti and cupcakes, two of her favorite foods, to make one of the wishes come true.
Our condolences to Frady's family and friends.
